In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned in Article 253 of the Constitution, other functions, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows:-
(a) To review, monitor and evaluate the policies, legal arrangements and programs of the Government of Nepal related to women's empowerment and analyze whether such policies and programs are effective from the perspective of gender justice and give suggestions to the Government of Nepal for improvement,
(b) To study and investigate the implementation of provisions related to women's rights provided by the constitution and laws and give suggestions to the Government of Nepal for the effective implementation of such provisions,
(c) To study and investigate any problem or special situation arising out of violence or discrimination against women and give suggestions to the Government of Nepal about the strategies to be adopted to prevent such a situation from arising,
(d) Recommending to the relevant agencies about necessary measures to increase women's access to capital, resources, means and technology to make women independent and empower them,
(e) Designing and implementing necessary information, information and awareness programs for the protection and promotion of women's rights and interests and women's empowerment,
(f) To end all forms of violence and discrimination against women, to formulate and implement necessary programs to remove stigma and superstitions that create such violence and discrimination,
(g) Recommending arrangements for sending women who are socially excluded or at risk or displaced or victims of violence or discrimination against women to safety centers or rehabilitation centers,
(h) To monitor or cause to be monitored the status of implementation of recommendations made by the Commission (i) To create and enforce a code of conduct for members and employees of the Commission (j) To approve the annual program of the commission.
